A suspect in an allegedly stolen vehicle led authorities on a pursuit through the South Gate and East Los Angeles areas Tuesday evening before abandoning the vehicle and scrambling into a residential neighborhood, prompting an extensive search.The pursuit started at around 5:10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. At one point during the chase, the driver came to a stop on the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway near the Pomona (60) Freeway, and three passengers got out of the vehicle and ran off the freeway.
