Priyanka Chopra, Mindy Kaling, Malala Yousafzai and other South Asian celebrities co-hosted South Asian Excellence Pre-Oscars Celebration on Thursday at the Paramount Studio lot. According to Variety , the event honored the documentary 'All That Breathes'; the song and score from 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'; the song 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR'; documentary shorts 'Elephant Whisperers' and 'Stranger at the Gate'; and shortlisted international feature 'Joyland.' Chopra opened the event by acknowledging the South Asian creatives who 'fought the stereotypes to ensure that our stories were not just a cliche, those of us who fought for actors to have bigger leading roles.
